Legal Permanent Residents who would like to become a citizens are invited to learn more. Find out if you can get free legal help.

*Learn about the citizenship process

*Get screened by phone by a trained volunteer to make sure you are eligible/ready 

* The screening will include legal eligibility, English language proficiency, and eligibility for income-based fee waivers.
Eligible individuals must register for an Information &  Screening Appointment to attend Citizenship Day
​on September 21, 2024.
Basic Eligibility Requirements:

*18 years or older

*Have basic English skills

*Be a Legal Permanent Resident (have a "green-card") for at least 5 years or 3 years if married to a US citizen.

*Have a clean criminal record
Languages: You must be able to speak, read and write in English to be able to apply for U.S. Citizenship. Exceptions exist. See exceptions
